Wednesday Quirks [#3], wedding anniversary soon!

Hump day! Hurray. But I’m getting my booty workout in tomorrow, so I guess I’ll celebrate a day late.

Just got finished grilling out and eating a delicious dinner of center cut pork chops, brussel sprouts, Kettle chips (Red Curry flavor), and oh-so-much watermelon. Jeremy has his pork chop grilling skills down to an art – I promise to get photos next time but completely devoured everything before I even thought about it. We were super hungry tonight. But what really got me was the watermelon. I grabbed a huge one for $3.99 at Fresh Market, along with the pork chops, and I think maybe I felt obligated to finish too much of it. haha. So now I’m sleepy with a watermelon belly.


 

Quirky/Weirdness Wednesday #3kiwi

  • I eat kiwis whole. Furry skin and all. According to the California Kiwifruit Commission, it’s completely safe to eat kiwi skin. unless you are allergic, of course. More fiber for me. ūüôā
  • I hate waking up & moving without ¬†a kick in the¬†butt with caffeine. It gets¬†a¬†bit¬†pathetic but I guess it’s how I’m wired…
  • Even weirder… I sleep better when I have caffeine. I recently cut caffeine for a month and had the WORST insomnia!
  • I have a nervous habit of picking at my cuticles on my thumbs.
  • In middle school and maybe some of high school, I had friends who called me “Buns”…. Because I was obsessed with nice buns.
  • ¬†I got married next to dolphins at Marineland in St. Augustine, Florida.¬†(Did I mention that¬†I’m obsessed with dolphins and the ocean already?). Since our anniversary is coming up on the 15th, I figured I’d get this one in here. <3

Tuesday A-Z Survey

More busy summer days, although I can’t complain – I’m rarely bored. ūüôā

Care for another survey!? I hope so. Getting ahead on classwork because I have a wedding to go to this weekend in North Carolina!


A. Attached or Single? Attached and very married to my best friend!

B. Best Friend? See above! But outside of Jeremy, I am blessed with many amazing friends, not just one.

C. Cake or pie?¬†meh… not a cake or pie person, usually.. But I have developed a love for some cake pops (they are slightly doughish in the middle & delicious)! I prefer brownies, choc. chip cookies, etc.

D. Day of choice?¬†mmm… Friday evenings because I usually have the weekend & fun plans to look forward to.

E. Essential Item?  I guess a sketch/notebook for my flurries of random ideas. Continue reading

Wednesday Quirks #2

crazydriversIt’s Wednesday and we are more than halfway done with the normal work¬†week! So I have my Wednesday workout and another weird list for you… Speaking of weird, we had a car go through the fence at our apartment complex today. I think there was a police chase involved, but I could be wrong. Regardless, the roads were wet and the fence and brick columns definitely stopped this guy… That’s car #2 in less that 12 months, in nearly the same spot (the last one was Thanksgiving morning really early, around 5 AM). It’s crazy how bad people can drive in this city,- the drivers are scary sometimes, even though I love Atlanta.. Anyways,¬†it’ll be a quick post tonight – workout first:

fsquatWednesday Workout – mostly lower body to build that booty for HUMP DAY!

  • 1 mile walk to the gym &¬†Kettlebell swing warm-up w/35 lb kettlebell
  • Barbell warm-up¬†followed by Front Squats – 95×10,105×8,115×8, 125×6, 135×5, 145×3, 145×3 then a quick every minute on the minute for 5 minutes with 135×3 followed by a cooldown with decreasing front squat weights.
  • Deadlift¬†135×6, 145×6, 145×5 (mostly to give the hamstrings some easy work)¬†followed by TRX single-leg lunges

My workout was followed by a steak burrito bowl from Moes (thanks to my husband) with all of the fixings, including guacamole <3


 

So I figured I’d stick with my weird theme for Wednesday’s so far an give you another list of some of my weird tendencies/habits…errr… gifts. ūüôā

  • I talk to my plants, like when I water them… especially when I am home alone.
  • I’m blind in my right eye (my brain doesn’t like to use it) and constantly run into things on my right side.
  • Despite that, I am a¬†freakishly good shot with rubber bands.
  • The first time I saw the Count Censored video, I almost peed myself laughing. I have a terrible sense of humor. (warning: explicit language…)
  • Did I mention my obsession with dolphins before?phinsdraw

Wednesday Quirks and Breakfast

Good evening!

Weirdness Wednesday? Okay, yes, so I’m “weird” for wanting to share a few of these, but while attempting to get dressed this morning I realized I do have a few quirks and habits that I figured would be fun to share.

  • I refuse to untie my shoes sometimes, and try to yank them off and squeeze them back on because I feel like I “waste” time having to untie and retie with my strange double knot… But it’s silly because¬†it¬†can take¬†me longer to try to¬†wiggle¬†them back on,plus it ruins the shoe and can be painful… I’ll work on this!
  • “Cavemanning” steaks and other cuts of meat...and salads too! I love eating with my hands and tearing my food apart, and end up going through waaay too many napkins sometimes.

    One of my weird “habits,” drawing on my notes (usually marine life)

  • Doodles and sketches ALL over my notes when in classes. Most of the time, it’s a dolphin or a killer whale… So I may be a little obsessed. But it DOES help me focus.
  • Hollyisms. Words I make up or combine (such a troublems = problem + troubles; pronounce trawb-lehms). They sound like nonsense, and my husbands and best friends are used to me using these terms… Until¬†I use them in conversation in public, making¬†people think I’m crazy.

 

 

In other news, I also need to share with you the greatness that was my breakfast… Farm fresh eggs, gifted to me from my dad – and there’s a GREEN egg!

My workout today was simple – morning cardio (lateral elliptical) with sprints, and PM front squats.

For now, I’m out to enjoy a cold one and… GO HAWKS!
