Krush Bars (previously known as Krave bars) have been popping up all over social media for a while now! When I worked at a nutrition store, I even had a couple of people ask me about these – I wish our store had carried them then so I could’ve tried sooner and not feel so behind! Now that I work part time in a gym, I have people ask me for protein bar recommendations all of the time, so I felt it was time to give these a try! After eyeing the unique flavored bars for a while, I finally decided to give in and buy a variety pack so I could try all of the flavors side by side. I definitely don’t regret giving them a try!
Take a look at the nutrition label for my favorite Krush Bar flavor, Birthday Cake.
All of the bars use whey protein+milk proteins, prebiotic fiber (inulin), and peanut butter as a base! The flavorsvary slightly in the remaining ingredients, but all of the bars have approximately 20 grams of fiber and 20 grams of protein! Awesome!
Birthday Cake! – (pictured below) This bar ended up being my favorite! The sprinkles were fun, the flavor was delicious, and the texture was soft and fluffy!
Raw Cookie Dough – My first bite reminded me of delicious chocolate chip cookie dough with a mild peanut butter cookie dough note, as well. I was impressed by the soft texture and the chocolate chips, which were distributed generously throughout the bar.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch – This bar surprised me and is probably my second favorite bar flavor! The peanut butter flavor worked perfect with this bar, as it should have. The bar was delicious, soft, and while I didn’t detect much “crunch,” I was pleased with this flavor!
Apple Pie – The apples distributed through the bar were a nice touch, and I enjoyed this, though it didn’t taste like apple pie to me. I think it’s the underlying peanut butter taste, which doesn’t bother me, but it made the bar less “pie-like” to me.
French Toast – I loved the pecans in this bar but the flavor was a little different than what I expected. Sort of like peanut butter+cinnamon french toast. I liked it, but it wasn’t my favorite bar. Still a unique option!
Mint Chocolate Chip – Maybe my least favorite bar, but I may be biased because mint chocolate is not always my thing. If you like mint chocolate, still worth trying! I could slightly taste the peanut butter, which was strange with the mint.
Pros: These bars have a short list of mostly natural ingredients, lots of prebiotic fiber and of course, whey+milk protein – there’s no other proteins, like soy, thrown in.
Every bar uses peanut butter as a base – awesome if you love peanut butter, although the peanut butter flavor is mildly present in all of the flavors.
Dislike/Cons: Not many. If you don’t like peanut butter at all (or are allergic) you may want to avoid. Also note that the very last ingredient is sucralose. It’s a small amount, but worth noting if you choose to avoid artificial sweeteners (note: quite a few Quest bar flavors have this as well).
Overall (8.5/10) : I would buy these bars again, but probably go with the Birthday Cake and/or Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip bars first. <3 Check our Krush Nutrition here! The company also offers high protein, all natural peanut butters which look incredible, as well!
Note: Krush Nutrition did not provide me with these bars, and I receive no compensation for this review. I bought the bars to try and share with you – all opinions are my own. 🙂
Have you tried Krush Bars yet!? What do you think?
